Dear future Janet βπΎ,
Writing a letter to my future self is a ritual I started during the pandemic year (2020).
I can’t point out what made me start writing these letters.
But I can tell you that it has been one of the best decisions of my lifeπ.
Growing up, I always kept a diary though I stopped at a point.
My diary book was like a report of my activity and friendship issues.
But these future letters were different.
These letters contained my future, my dreams, and my goals.
In the year 2021, I went further to start a daily gratitude journal which I am still writing, while still writing to my future self once a month.
In a world where negativity thrives, it reminds you of how far you have come.
he blessings you have now while keeping you hopeful for the future.
If there is one thing writing a letter to myself has taught me is that no situation is permanent, yes, both good and bad.
I read the letter and laughed at the little things I worried about then π.
Other times, I read the letter and wished I appreciated the season I was in at that timeπ©.
Today, let me write to you, my online fams:
Dear, you are doing well. You have come a long way, and being alive is a job good enough.
I am proud of you for gracing the world with your presence daily.
Let no one tell you otherwise. Slow and steady, surely you will win π·π.
I am rooting for you!
Do you write letters to your future self or have a gratitude journal?
